Amar European Grocery Store is a fantastic grocery store that holds plenty of wonderful items within the store. Not only do they have a great grocery selection, but they also have a fantastic meat department and I am quite impressed with the hot dog brands they have here. I also picked up some pierogies, ajvar and a few other European treats. The staff are extremely friendly, helpful and professional and only enhanced my overall experience. The store is just off the main road and would be real easy to never notice. I will say that if you never notice it or just never stopped, that would truly be your loss. Amar European Grocery Store also has another location on Philips Highway that is just as wonderful. I cannot give this business enough praise and I will give it five stars for my overall experience. If you are in the Jacksonville, Florida area and are looking for a European grocer or just want to expand your culinary adventures a bit, I would definitely recommend heading to either of these two locations.
I love to search for international market around me, and I never search on a Jacksonville area. I found this place and loved it. Small, but everything organized and has a lot of diversity. I didn't find the cheesecake ice cream, that normally they have in this type of market. I asked the lady about the other store, from the same owner and she said that is bigger and sometimes they have more options. So I decided to go to the other store, it's 8 minutes from there.
